Daily Mirror £15m for Arter
The world has gone officially mental. £15m for Harry Arter according to the Daily Mirror. If we pay that we need our bumps felt.

We won't pay that.

You've experienced a Gold & Sullivan transfer window before, right?

Re: Daily Mirror £15m for Arter
Ha Ha, that must be including mental add-ons like being the first player to score a goal on the moon and stuff right?

Actually he looks half decent every time I've seen him but second string Bournemouth players don't exactly inspire do they?

If only there was a transfer thread to post this on!

They clearly don't know Sullivan that well.

It's probably that lying cunt Sullivan putting it out there.

I think you’ll find there is a decimal point missing from that valuation.

£1.5m is far more realistic.

Re: Daily Mirror £15m for Arter
He is bang average, not sure what he is good at. Not £15M better than Obiang or Noble

Massive no from me

Next level.

Shame they didn't originally specify that they meant the next level downwards when spinning their bullshit!

Re: Daily Mirror £15m for Arter
Uninspiring, but realistically who are we going to get to radically improve us in the position we are in?

And you know what? If Moyes thinks Arter will help our midfield problems, then I trust him.

They are repeating exactly the same mistakes made in the last January window.

Coffee 11:36 Thu Jan 11
Re: Daily Mirror £15m for Arter
And presumably they're faced with the same kind of challenges.

Such as the problem that nobody of the 'next level' will want to join a team threatened with relegation. And the bastard agents playing everyone off against each other to the last minute of the window's last day.

Not even get a gig for the Cherries is he?? Absolute mental if true... next level my arse

Willtell 11:52 Thu Jan 11
Re: Daily Mirror £15m for Arter
Mind you not even Wilshere was a regular for Bournemouth last season...

The problem is that because Moyes is only employed to the end of the season, his ambitions are to keep us from relegation so that he gets a new long-term contract or at least so that he can justify a job elsewhere.

He wants midfielders that can hit the ground running and that keep his job prospects high. He doesn't want a player for the future. He wants on for today...

I presume he got a game when they couldn’t beat Wigan at home
Sounds right up our alley

Sven... no he didn't, not even on the bench, so it must be true. he's on his way.... to us.

Re: Daily Mirror £15m for Arter
All part of the West Ham vicious transfer cycle. Lack of summer investment blamed on desperation winter signings draining the resources leading to the threat of relegation which sees desperate, expensive winter signings and less money in the summer.

All down to a board who’s highest aspiration is average.

friends with the agent? why else would you spend that much on him?

the thing about the scum owners is linking us to shit is the continuation of lowering expectations, they're experts at it

Definitely agree with this. We are falling into the trap where a poor summer (and this has happened a few years in a row) has dictated what has to happen in winter, and then the board claim what they had to do in winter impacts funds for the summer.

Pffffttt.

They need to just stop being half arsed in the summer trust the manager and football people at the club and give them what they say they need. Trouble is that for every signing that doesn't work out you get Sullivan wheeling out his 'the manager wanted him but I didn't', 'My family begged me not to sign him.' crap, which to be quite frank is disgraceful. You don't see any other owners behaving like that. He seems really desperate not to appear responsible for any bad signings.

1 assist this season, I know Arter is a half decent player but we need someone who can play passes into attackers that aren't at neck or knee height!
